The term dry ice is commonly referred to as carbon dioxide (CO2) in the solid state which at atmospheric pressure is at a temperature of about -80°.

Dry ice allows for residue-free cleaning, without water and chemicals: the application is environmentally friendly, bactericidal and significantly faster than conventional cleaning methods.

ICE BLAST

ICE BLAST dry ice pellets are non-toxic, sublimate immediately on impact and return naturally to their gaseous state without generating secondary waste. The cleaning process removes contaminants through impact action, eliminating deposits and encrustations without the use of water, chemicals or traditional abrasives.

When the pellet strikes the surface, it penetrates beneath the contaminant layer, fractures and generates a high-speed flow of dry ice particles. This action lifts the contamination from the inside out, effectively separating it from the substrate.

ICE BLAST has no abrasive effect and is therefore extremely gentle on treated surfaces.

Effects of the Cryogenic Cleaning Process

Mechanical Effect

Dry ice pellets with a diameter between 1.5 and 3 mm are accelerated at high speed against the surface to be cleaned.

No cutting or abrasive action occurs, meaning the substrate remains undamaged. Since CO₂ sublimates immediately, the only residue left behind is the removed contamination.

Thermal and Kinetic Effect

The impact of the pellets generates thermal shock at approximately -78°C, making deposits brittle and facilitating their separation from the surface.

At the same time, dry ice changes from solid to gas, expanding approximately 700 times in volume and creating a powerful lifting effect on contaminants.

Fungistatic Effect

During sublimation, carbon dioxide exerts bacteriostatic and fungistatic effects that help slow down microbiological growth.

This characteristic makes the process particularly suitable for applications where hygiene is an important requirement.

Sublimation Effect

Dry ice leaves no moisture or liquid residue on treated surfaces.

The sublimation process creates a dry CO₂ atmosphere that helps reduce environmental humidity, making cryogenic cleaning ideal for food processing environments and industrial equipment maintenance.

Cryogenic Cleaning in Action

The combination of mechanical impact, thermal shock and sublimation makes ICE BLAST a highly effective cleaning technology for removing contaminants without affecting the underlying material.

24-Hour Delivery Service Throughout Italy

To ensure that dry ice maintains its characteristics for as long as possible, our supply service uses professional insulated containers designed to minimise losses caused by sublimation during transport.

Insulated containers are available from 15 kg up to 600 kg capacity, making the service suitable for both occasional requirements and continuous industrial supplies.

Supplies starting from 15 kg

For small quantities, special insulated containers with 30 mm thick walls are used, providing excellent thermal insulation and helping preserve the dry ice during transportation.

One of the main advantages of the service is the possibility to order quantities as small as 15–20 kg, making dry ice accessible even to customers who do not require large volumes.

Insulated Transport Containers

The containers used for dry ice transportation are designed to provide excellent thermal insulation while ensuring practical handling, storage and product preservation.
